O material inflam\u00e1vel tamb\u00e9m pode ser gasoso, como \u00e9 o caso do GLP (G\u00e1s L\u00edquido de Petr\u00f3leo).<\/p>\n<p>Geralmente este tipo de inc\u00eandio ocorre por vazamento de l\u00edquidos ou gases inflam\u00e1veis ou por seu armazenamento incorreto e costuma ser especialmente perigoso por sua velocidade e intensidade, j\u00e1 que o material que est\u00e1 pegando fogo libera energia e calor, potencializando o evento.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A melhor forma de combater um inc\u00eandio Classe B \u00e9 com agentes extintores l\u00edquidos ou em p\u00f3 que suprimem o fogo removendo o oxig\u00eanio necess\u00e1rio para a sua sustenta\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Entre eles, o mais comum \u00e9 a espuma de combate a inc\u00eandio, que cria uma camada protetora entre o material e o ambiente, abafando o fogo e cortando seu suprimento de oxig\u00eanio. <\/p>\n<p>Se voc\u00ea se deparar com este tipo de inc\u00eandio, deve procurar por um extintor de p\u00f3 qu\u00edmico, de g\u00e1s carb\u00f4nico ou de espuma mec\u00e2nica, apto para inc\u00eandios da Classe B. Esta informa\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e1 bem vis\u00edvel na etiqueta do extintor, a letra \u201cB\u201d pode ser facilmente identificada.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9 poss\u00edvel que na etiqueta do extintor conste mais de uma letra. Muitos extintores s\u00e3o adequados para apagar diversos tipos de inc\u00eandio, ent\u00e3o, \u00e9 poss\u00edvel que conste em suas etiquetas informa\u00e7\u00f5es como \u201cP\u00f3 qu\u00edmico BC\u201d. Isso significa que ele pode ser utilizado tanto para inc\u00eandios de Classe B como para inc\u00eandios da Classe C.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c9 terminantemente proibido usar um extintor de \u00e1gua (aquele para inc\u00eandios de Classe A) em inc\u00eandios de Classe B<\/strong>, pois al\u00e9m de n\u00e3o apagar o fogo, ele vai ajudar a espalh\u00e1-lo ainda mais.<\/p>\n<p>Al\u00e9m do extintor, existem outras formas de combate a inc\u00eandios de Classe B, muitas delas automatizadas, que n\u00e3o dependem da a\u00e7\u00e3o humana.
